  2. Management stability – there are too many owners or family members that are instrumental to the operation of the business and this will impact the survival of the business after the sale<\/li>\n
  3. The Rumor Mill – the loss of key staff due to the unknown future of the business and internal rumors of a sale.<\/li>\n
  4. Lack of historical growth – a buyer is looking for ongoing growth in a new business purchase<\/li>\n
  5. Customer fragmentation is not sufficient – if the main customer is more than 25% of the sales of the business there is a major risk to a buyer moving forward.<\/li>\n
  6. The seller is not educated in the process of selling a business – Many sellers do not understand the time and effort that is required to sell and this can interrupt the day to day operations of the business if the seller is an integral part of the operations.<\/li>\n
  7. The seller is extremely emotional about the business – Many business owners have been running their business for many years and are emotional about the current and potential value of the business. The seller is looking at the years of hard work he\/she has put into the business and the buyer is looking at a return on investment, these ideals often clash.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
